So this is a self-propelled cordless mower with a 7.5Ah battery and rapid charger. Twin blades that cut crisscross, a speed knob for the drive, single-lever height, LED headlights, and it folds up to store. Quiet, comfortable, and it cuts great.

The verdict

Buy it if

you want a quiet, comfortable self-propelled mower with a genuinely nice cut and a battery that works across your EGO tools.

What’s good

The EGO LM2135SP is a quiet, powerful self-propelled mower with twin blades
  • Twin blades run crisscross for a noticeably better cut, and you can swap blade sets for mulching or bagging.
  • Self-propelled with a speed knob and buttons on both sides. Press one or both and it drives forward, comfortable grip and all.
  • Single-lever height adjustment and a handle you can set low, medium, or high. One of the most comfortable mowers I’ve used.
  • Quiet, has LED headlights, folds up to stand upright for storage, and the kit’s rapid charger fills the 7.5Ah battery in about an hour.

The catch

The EGO LM2135SP is a quiet, powerful self-propelled mower with twin blades
  • Real-world runtime was 30 to 45 minutes in my thicker grass, not the hour EGO claims. Grab a spare battery.
  • The LM2135SP is about 55 pounds, so getting it in and out of a vehicle is a bit of a lift. The LM2135SP also struggled with wet grass.

What it is

The EGO LM2135SP is a quiet, powerful self-propelled mower with twin blades

EGO’s LM2135SP self-propelled cordless mower. The kit comes with a 7.5Ah battery and a rapid charger that fills it in about an hour. You get single-lever height adjustment, a handle you can set to three angles, a speed knob and side buttons for the self-propel, LED headlights, and a folding design that stands upright for storage. The LM2135SP runs two blades in a crisscross setup, and EGO includes other blade combinations for mulching or bagging. There’s a 5-year warranty on the mower, 3 years on the battery.

What I found using it

The EGO LM2135SP is a quiet, powerful self-propelled mower with twin blades

Starting it is simple: press the power button, pull the lever and hold it. For the drive, you set the speed with the knob and press either side button, one or both, and it pushes forward, sometimes pretty quick. The grip is one of the most comfortable I’ve used, and being able to set the handle low, medium, or high helped. The twin crisscross blades are the highlight. At a medium to low cut height, my lawn came out looking really nice.

On runtime, EGO says about an hour. In my thicker grass I got closer to 30 to 45 minutes, so I keep a spare 5Ah battery from my blower and trimmer around. I also tried it on wet grass one morning and it didn’t do as well as on dry, so I’d wait for the dew to settle. It weighs about 55 pounds, which is a bit much to lift into a vehicle, but that weight is part of why the cut is so clean. The LM2135SP is also quiet, has LED headlights with a toggle on the back, and folds up fast for storage.

Who I’d tell to buy it

The EGO LM2135SP is a quiet, powerful self-propelled mower with twin blades

If you want a quiet, comfortable self-propelled mower that leaves a great cut and shares batteries with the rest of your EGO tools, I think this is an easy recommendation. Just plan on a spare battery if your grass is thick, know it’s a 55-pound lift into a truck, and let a wet lawn dry before you cut. If you can get by with a push mower, cool. For me, the self-propel is worth it.

How it did in testing

The EGO LM2135SP is a quiet, powerful self-propelled mower with twin blades

This is a few cuts on my own lawn, not a lab test. Nothing below is a score. The LM2135SP is what happened.

The extra weight sounds like a downside, but it’s part of why the cut comes out so nice.

TestWhat happenedNote
The cutTwo blades cutting crisscross gave a really clean cut, especially at a medium to low height.Swap blades for mulch or bag.
Self-propelSet the speed with the knob, pressed the side buttons, and it darted forward. Comfortable grip. One button or both works.
RuntimeGot 30 to 45 minutes in my thicker grass, short of the claimed hour.Buy a spare 5Ah battery.
Wet grassCut wet grass noticeably worse than dry.Wait for the dew to settle.
Storage and chargingFolded it up to stand upright, and the rapid charger filled the battery in about an hour.55 pounds, a bit heavy to lift.

Living with it

This is a quiet, powerful mower that’s genuinely fun to use. The crisscross twin blades leave a really nice finish, the self-propel is easy to control, and it folds up small. The battery and rapid charger working across my other EGO tools is a big plus.

The honest notes: I get 30 to 45 minutes in thick grass rather than the full hour, so a spare battery is worth it. At 55 pounds it’s a lift into a vehicle, and it doesn’t love wet grass. Wait for the lawn to dry and I think it’s excellent.
